FAQs

Q?What is the benefit of Micropiles?
A.

Micropiles allow you to add to or extend your property, whilst protecting yourself from subsidance and ground heave. More importantly they are also quicker and cheaper to install than conventional deep trench foundations.

Q?Why not use conventional deep trench foundations?
A.

Micro piled foundations save time and money over conventional deep slab foundations when building on unstable ground. Instead of messy and disruptive deep trench excavations Micro piles provide a cleaner, greener, minimised waste solution, helping you to reduce the cost of your foundations, and your build’s impact on the environment.

Q?What is the difference between Micro Piles and Mini Piles?
A.

Mini Piles are not as mini as their name suggests and often require much larger machinery and take much longer to install. They also require much more concrete and can be very expensive, by using more, smaller diameter piles, Micro piling means your structure will gain all of the benefits of Mini piling, but without the cost and lengthy installation time.

Q?Do you finish when the piles are installed or when the concrete is poured?
A.

At Micropiles we can provide a solution for everyone, no matter what your budget. Our expert team can provide the piles only, piles and reinforced cage ready for concrete, or provide and pour the concrete, leaving you with a fully finished, micro piled, reinforced concrete foundation ready to build on.

Q?Is it noisy and disruptive?
A.

Micro piling generates very little noise and fumes, so it’s an ideal option for when environmental issues are a concern. Its speed also means any disruption is kept to a minimum, with most installations completed in a single day.

Q?What if access to the site is limited?
A.

Micropiles uses a range of specialist micro piling rigs that enable us to access even the most restricted sites using either our handheld rig, or compact tracked piling rig capable of accessing sites through a standard width doorway.

Q?What areas do you cover?
A.

Micropiles is nationwide and covers the whole of the UK. Please feel free to contact us and a member of our expert team will be in touch to discuss your requirements.
